Kelly Christopher II

We are so excited to announce the birth of our son, Kelly Christopher II. He was born November 28 at 5:21pm at St. Luke's hospital in Maumee, Ohio. He weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 21 inches long.

On the night of the 24th my Mom, Dad, Aunt Cheryl, Uncle Marc, Kelly & I were all anxious to get things going so we decided to go to the Zoo for the "lights before Christmas." We walked around all over for a good 3 hours. I was contracting so much and my back was throbbing I could hardly make it to the car by nights end. We all got home and starting timing my contractions. They were consistently 4-6 minutes a part for a solid 3 hours or so. I called the hospital but the nurses said I was probably just dehydrated and to drink some water and If things continued to progress to come on in. Well a couple bottles of water later, the excitement seemed to calm down.

Our next adventure... a trip to the mall. Walk walk walk, but still nothing!

The next day we all gathered at the Hunt house for a gathering of two families (mine and his) for Thanksgiving. It was such a memorable night for me having both sides together. It was a time to truly be thankful for! We ate our fill, then headed home...and still nothing.

On Friday the 27th we made the decision to induce labor. I was past 40 weeks and growing bigger and more uncomfortable everyday. I started swelling up like a balloon it seemed. I was just anxious to hold our baby in my arms instead of my belly!

The next morning I was set up on a very low dose of pitocin to induce labor. The nurses a few different times had to turn the levels down and eventually turn off the pitocin drip because little Kelly wasn't responding well to it. His heart rate was increasing too high and after an hour the decision was made by my doctor that he needed to come out via c-section. This all came as a sudden shock and it was something Kelly and I definitely weren't prepared for. Our families came together and surrounded my bedside and my Mom led us all in a word of prayer. Soon after, we were taken back in the operating room and at 5:21 Kelly II was born. Praise God!

When I saw our son for the first time I remember being amazed at how much hair he had (which the nurses had put into a little mo hawk). He was absolutely beautiful!!! The next few days in the hospital were kind of a blurr. Thank the Lord for my amazing husband who waited on both little Kelly and I hand and foot! He truly has had such a servants heart and my love for him continues to grow even deeper.

We left the hospital 3 days later and since then have been trying to adjust to our new lives together. My parents were out here for almost 3 weeks ...a little before and for about a week after little Kels birth. They helped out so much and were a tremendous blessing to us... helping us cook, clean, and giving us time to catch up on some sleep. Soon after, Devin and Layne flew into town. Devin set up a photo shoot for the 3 of us with her fabulous new camera and I am so thankful for all of the pictures she captured. He has already changed so much it seems... Does it really go by that fast???

All of the cooked meals, phone calls, emails and visits have been so meaningful to us and we have truly appreciated it! Thanks to everyone.

We also want to thank you all who thought and prayed for us. We are doing wonderful!
We hope you have a blessed Christmas and New Year!

We will keep you posted,
